The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has sanctioned yet another patent (Patent No. 6,695,858) for Genesis Medical Interventional, Inc. (Genesis) today for their innovative funnel catheter technology. This is just the latest in a long list of patents the Genesis has been awarded for their proximal occlusion technology.
The new patent covers technology specific to the Genesis Funnel Catheter System, percutaneous treatment for embolectomy, thrombectomy and proximal occlusion.

The device also allows the physician to use the funnel to remove emboli and thrombi from the treated vessel by using simple aspiration from a syringe.
