Will Present at Medtech Insight and Windhover Information's ''In3 Medical Device Summit'' Conference, June 22, 2006 in San Francisco, CA
BIOWIRE -- June 13, 2006 Genesis, based in Redwood City, CA, emerges after two plus years of stealth development in the burgeoning market of occlusive vascular disease with two products to be introduced in the fall. The company has developed a unique Funnel Catheter system for the removal of particulate from the blood stream.
The unique Funnel Catheter platform developed by Genesis provides a disruptive approach to thrombectomy and embolectomy. The company will debut its first two Funnel Catheter systems at the MedTech Conference. Data will be presented by the company from two trials completed with the Funnel Catheter, one for coronary Proximal Occlusion Embolic Protection applications and another for Peripheral Thrombectomy.
"This data provides the first Safety and Efficacy data from nearly 100 patients," said Will Dubrul, Genesis President and CEO. "We could not be happier with the results. It is a very exciting time as we prepare to launch this elegantly simple technology this fall."
The company estimates that the markets for their product platforms in the continually emerging market segments of Thrombectomy and Embolic Protection to be in excess of $1B. "We focused on efficacy and ease of use," said Dubrul, "and it has paid off. The physicians working with it are very supportive of our endeavors."
The Company has received FDA 510(k.) clearance to market their proprietary Funnel Catheter system they have named F.A.S.T. (Facilitated Aspiration/Suction Thrombectomy), completed successful clinical testing on these designs and secured the endorsement of numerous influential endovascular specialists.
